About Kathryn McTurk
Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist
I am an independent paediatric Speech & Language Therapist with experience working with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs. Following completion of a BSc (First Class Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy from Strathclyde University, Glasgow (2006), I obtained an MSc with Distinction in Speech and Cleft from the University of Sheffield (2012).
I have worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, community clinics, schools, nurseries and homes. Since qualifying, I have undertaken further training in Makaton, selective mutism and autism, and I regularly attend conferences and seminars to keep my knowledge and skills current.
I am also an independent Elklan Registered Tutor, licenced to deliver communication training to nursery and school staff. I volunteer with the charity Homestart, offering support and advice to local families and children with speech, language and communication needs.
